Baslow St Anne’s has been awarded top marks by the Government for its “outstanding performance”.

The Chief Adviser on School Standards, Sue Hackman, wrote to us to congratulate the teaching staff and pupils for results achieved in Key Stage 2 English and Mathematics tests between 2004 and 2007.

The letter is one of only 20 sent nationally and reflects the “substantial improvements” made in the number of children securing Level 4 and above in the tests – up 18 percentage points in English and by 9 percentage points in Mathematics - with St Anne’s being held up as a beacon of best practice for other primary schools in the country looking to improve standards.

OFSTED – The school was awarded an overall grading of ‘OUTSTANDING’ in 2009

  • Quality Mark- this was achieved for the third time in June 2007 for high standards in teaching and learning
  • Artsmark- awarded in 2005 for schools commitment to all forms of art
  • ECO Bronze Award-celebrating the schools commitment to improving the environment.
  • Healthy Schools Award –this has been awarded twice and is currently being renewed.
  • ABC award for work on Anti-bullying – Achieved twice before- this is being renewed in 2008
